The Humble Beginning…

Leadership On The Move (LOTM) was founded in 1990 by Dick and Lura Hammond because of their desire to incorporate experiential learning into leadership and team development. LOTM is the sole professional vendor member accredited for training only by the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT).

Our Philosophy

LOTM practices the principle of experiential education in order to promote individual and group learning. This methodology allows one to become involved in the learning process, and take ownership in their personal knowledge development.

Our programs are centered around the following philosophy:

About The Owners

Dick Hammond was originally introduced to experiential leadership as a participant in Class III of Leadership Garland (Texas) in 1983. A few years experience later and Dick began serving as the class facilitator for leadership programs across the country. He has also served twice as President of the Association of Texas Leadership Programs (ATLP), a state wide associaton representing over 165 leadership programs. Most recently he has served as Chairman of the Board for the Community Leadership Association (CLA) which represents over 1500 community based leadership programs across the nation.

Lura is a graduate of three local leadership programs: Leadership Garland, Leadership Mesquite, and Leadership Metrocrest. She has work to found many similar program and has served as President of ATLP as well. She most recently graduated from Leadership North Texas, and serves as the association manger for the national Association of Leadership Professionals (ALP).
