Challenge Course Practitioner (CCP) and Challenge Course Manager (CCM)

CCP Certifications

Level I – Certification Training

This is the entry level of certification for practitioners. It assumes no program delivery experience prior to this initial training course. The content of this training will encompass the Staff Competencies as listed in of the most current ACCT Standards including general/core, technical and facilitation competencies.

Upon the successful completion of Level I training the practitioner can apply their competencies to routine, familiar program delivery situations with supervision and support from more experienced and knowledgeable staff. This is a 40-hour curriculum, plus a written and practical skills test. Minimum age requirement is 18.

Level I – Recertification Testing

Level I certification is valid for one (1) year. In order to re-certify, a Level I Practitioner shall either:

    • Document 50 hours of challenge course program delivery in the previous year OR take an additional sixteen (16) hours of training,
    • Pass a written and practical skills test that meets the Level I Standards.
    • OR - Retake initial training hours of Level I training and retest.

Level II – Certification Training

LOTM trains participants to meet the ACCT training standards: The Practitioner Level II shall possess all staff competencies listed in the Operations Standard including core, technical, and facilitation competencies. A practitioner Level II shall have knowledge and skills to solve most non-routine situations and provide leadership to less experienced and less knowledgeable staff. 

Level II candidates shall document an additional two hundred hours of experience working on a course. This is a 40-hour curriculum, plus a written and practical skills test. Minimum age requirement is 18. Duration of Level II Certification is three (3) years.

Level II – Recertification Testing

Level II certification is valid for three (3) years. In order to re-certify, a Level II Practitioner shall either:

    • Document 150 hours of challenge course program delivery in the previous year, document twenty-four (24) hours of additional relevant training within the previous three (3) years.
    • Pass a written and practical skills test that meets the Level I Standards.
    • OR - Retake initial training hours of Level II training and retest.

ACCT Challenge Course Manager (CCM) Training

We offer an in depth course management training that meets or exceeds the standards of the Association for Challenge Course Technology (ACCT) Challenge Course Manager (CCM) certification.* Training topics include, but are not limited to:

    • Client Needs Analysis
    • Program Design & Implementation
    • Facilitator / Participant Safety
    • Policy & Procedure Development
    • Course Record Keeping / Maintenance
    • Risk / Facility Management
    • Insurance Requirements / Liability Forms
    • Post Event Analysis
